The title of Betsy Walker’s newest release is a very fitting description of the artist herself. This Indiana born, California raised singer/songwriter is the real deal. Whether she’s tickling the ivories, rocking out on guitar, leading worship, or sitting down for a cup of coffee you can’t help but be drawn to her voice, her heart, and the conviction that drives her.

Betsy describes her music as ˜honest, lyric driven acoustic/pop with an attitude". Think Nicole Nordeman meets, Jen Knapp, meets Jewel. Betsy’s music has a wide range of appeal and therefore makes her a very versatile artist. She is at home sharing music on a college campus or leading worship for a women’s retreat. Her music is edgy enough for young adults, and timeless enough for the 'not so young adults'.Her mom thinks she’s good…but her credentials don’t stop there.

Betsy is a 2004 graduate of Anderson University’s Music Business Dept. Since then she has served as a worship leader at a church in Indianapolis, has released three cds, and has had the opportunity to open for artists such as Natalie Grant, Joy Williams, and Newsong. You may have also heard her at such well known festivals as Ichthus, and Alive. In 2004 Christianity Today said Betsy was one of the Top 10 independent artists you should know, and in 2006 she won best independent artist through a talent search hosted by Embassy Music/EMI.“If the gospel doesn’t sound like good news then we’re telling it wrong.” And if you’ve never heard the gospel according to this 5’3’’ preacher’s kid you’re missing out.
